Journalist Ksenia Sobchak on his page on Instagram posted a response to opposition leader Alexei Navalny, who has previously attacked her with criticism because of information in the media about her plans to participate in presidential elections.
The presenter was outraged that a politician, with whom she is on friendly terms, did not call her to find out her stance on the upcoming elections, and decided to “feed some plums” that were made in order to “discredit” her and “”drown” on startup”. Sobchak also criticized Navalny for what he called its right-wing liberal views are cannibalistic and gave her the words and ideas that she never said or shared.
According to the journalist, the most offensive to her was the fact that Navalny had previously convinced her to enter the Coordinating Council of the opposition, and now from his words that her place in show business.
“This is hypocrisy, against which you have always stood! Again, you’re a big boy and do a lot of important for our country and risking a lot, but to alienate their own allies, as only the looming prospect of political competition, is wrong, and the cult of the leader”, — said Sobchak.
21 September on the YouTube channel Navalny appeared in the record in which he commented on the information on plans Sobchak to compete for the presidency in 2018. He said that the TV presenter has decided to participate in “disgusting game called “let’s get to the elections the liberal ridicule”” and also described her right-wing liberal views as cannibalistic.
“We need to realize that she is not a politician. She works, speaking without irony, but a little in a different field — she’s in show business. So for her participation in the election campaign of any result ( … ) is a plus to her career in show business,” said Navalny, explaining why Sobchak need to participate in the presidential race.
In early September, the newspaper “Vedomosti” wrote that in the administration of the President are thinking about presenting the woman as a “sparring partner main presidential candidates”. The ideal candidate close to administration sources called Sobchak. Later several media outlets, including “the Russian service Bi-bi-si” reported that she already is looking for a campaign Manager, but so far without much success.
