More than 200 miners began to evacuate from the mine in the Komi Republic because of the smoke

In the mine “polar-2” in Vorkuta was smoke. At the time of emergency underground there were 263 persons. On Friday, September 22, the press service of EMERCOM in the Republic of Komi.

“At 11:45 in the operational-duty shift received a report of smoke in the rail tunnel in the mine “polar-2″ ( … ) at -780 meters”, — stated in the message.

The evacuation of the working shift in the composition of 177 miners started five branches of the rescuers, said a source RIA Novosti. He noted that “ventilation and electricity work in regular mode”.

“Polar-2” belongs to the largest coal company of Russia Vorkutaugol, which includes four mines in the Pechora coal basin.

On August 4, at the diamond mines of the company “ALROSA” in the city of Mirny in Yakutia there was a breakthrough of water. Time to evacuate 142 miners, another was later chosen independently. Eight people were confirmed dead. Presumably their bodies will be raised not earlier than in a year.
