Lavrov promised to support the sustainability of the agreement on the Iranian deal

Russia will continue to contribute to maintaining stability of the Joint comprehensive plan of action (AGREEMENT) to resolve the situation around the Iranian nuclear program. This statement was made by Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov in new York on the sidelines of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly at the meeting of foreign Ministers of the six powers and Iran.

The meeting was held under the coordination by the high representative of the Union for foreign Affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini. The event was considered the latest report of IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano, confirming strict compliance with Iran’s obligations AGREEMENT.

“This creates favourable conditions for the full realization of the opportunities offered by this agreement in economic, political spheres and in the sphere of security,” — said the Russian foreign Ministry.

In turn, U.S. Secretary Rex Tillerson confirmed that Iran complies with the provisions of the agreement on the nuclear program. “It’s hard to say that the expectations of the parties to the agreement were met. Perhaps the technical aspects, Yes, but aspirations in a broader context— not” — leads RIA Novosti his words.

Tillerson added that President Donald trump carefully studied, is there an agreement on Iran’s nuclear program to U.S. interests. He also noted that “the President said that he had already made the decision, but anyone from the outside was not discussed”.

Earlier, speaking at the session of the UN General Assembly, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said that Tehran promises to break the nuclear deal. “It will be a pity if this agreement will go to pieces because of irresponsible novices in the world of politics: the world will lose a wonderful opportunity,” he said. The Iranian President also promised that in the event of breach by either party of Iran will act firmly and decisively.

Iran and the six international mediators (USA, Russia, China, Britain, France, and Germany) reached in mid-July 2015 agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program and signed the AGREEMENT. The Islamic Republic pledged to restrict work in the field of uranium enrichment in exchange for lifting some sanctions.
