Sands commented on the statement by Poroshenko about the American loan and weapons

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov commented on the possible allocation of U.S. loan to Ukraine half a billion dollars. His words to the correspondent “Tapes.ru” on Tuesday, September 19.

A Kremlin spokesman stressed that the statement the loan was made by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko in Moscow, however, are not familiar with the official position of Washington on this score.

Answering a question on possible action by Russia in the case of confirmation of information, Peskov said: “And why should there be some action? It is a matter of bilateral Ukrainian-American relations in the provision of credit.”

He recalled that the President also talked about the intention of Washington to provide lethal weapons to Kiev. “What about this we have already said sufficiently clear and unequivocal that such a decision, of course, will not contribute to the settlement of the conflict in the South-East of Ukraine. And second, the de-escalation of tensions,” — said Peskov.

Earlier on Tuesday, Poroshenko said that the U.S. Senate approved the allocation of Kiev $ 500 million for support in the areas of security and defense. According to him, adopted the American defense budget provides for including the strengthening of air force and Navy of Ukraine.

On August 24 the Minister of defence of the USA James Mattis said that Washington is studying the possibility of supplying lethal weapons to Kiev. According to the head of the Pentagon, “defensive weapons is not a geeky tool, if you are the aggressor.”
