Wednesday, September 20, speaking at the security Council meeting, Poroshenko said that Ukraine needs the help of UN peacekeepers. The President added that the country’s participation in peacekeeping activities of the world organization has not stopped “even in the midst of an armed attack on the country by the Russian Federation”.

Moscow, September 5 made a resolution on peacekeepers in the UN security Council. The proposal suggests placing the mission on the demarcation line between the self-proclaimed militia Donetsk and Lugansk national republics by the Armed forces of Ukraine. According to Poroshenko, the peacekeeping mission in the Donbass does not have to agree with the militia of the breakaway republics. Official Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said in response that “blue helmets” UN “nowhere and never are located without the consent of the parties.”

Ukraine considers Russia a party to the conflict in the Donbass. Moscow claims about the presence of Russian military forces in the region denies.
