The salary of the women in Russia were 26% lower than men’s wages
Moscow. September 14. INTERFAX.RU Women in Russia to earn a quarter less than men, said the Vice-Premier of the Russian government Olga Golodets.
“The wages of Russian women is 26% lower than men’s,” said Golodets at the Thursday meeting of the coordination Council under the government of the Russian Federation on the implementation of the national strategy of actions in interests of women in the years 2017-2022.
So said Deputy Prime Minister, the average salary in the end of 2015 men in Russia amounted to 38.6 thousand rubles, and women — only 28 thousand rubles.
“The smallest difference between the salaries of women and men is within the field of education”, — said the Golodets.
She also recalled that in Russia women are represented in all industries, but their share in the government, having a direct impact on social well-being and future of the country remains low.
“For example, the percentage of women in Parliament, Russia is among the world countries on the hundredth place in the state Duma have women 15%, and in the Federation Council — 17%. And I remind you that the government we have women 10%, three of 31 persons. And on this indicator Russia ignores not only the developed Western countries (…), but also developing countries”, — said Deputy Prime Minister.
