MOSCOW, September 14. /TASS/. Advanced units of the Pskov connection airborne troops in the framework of the exercises “West-2017” engaged in battle with the forces of a conventional enemy, who illegally crossed the state border, said Thursday the Ministry of defence of the Russian Federation.
“The landing of more than 500 paratroopers and around 10 units of military vehicles took on new limited the landing pad located in the rear of force and sabotage units of the enemy. Intelligence units of the Pskov connection in the course of the battle, taking the initiative in their hands, rebuked promotion sabotage units of the imaginary enemy into the Pskov region”, – said in the defense Ministry.
The paratroopers also destroyed ground-based reconnaissance-strike complexes and auxiliary control points conventional adversaries. “While the main forces of troops completed training units and military equipment for combat use, units at the forefront, conducting reconnaissance revealed the location of the main forces and reserves the imaginary enemy, conducting combat operations simultaneously on three fronts,” said the Ministry of defense.
