With “Plesetsk” launched a ballistic missile “YARS”
MOSCOW, 12 Sep — RIA Novosti. With the Plesetsk cosmodrome conducted a test launch of an Intercontinental ballistic missile “YARS” silo-based, according to the defense Ministry.
Combat crew strategic Missile forces with state testing Plesetsk cosmodrome conducted a test launch of solid-fuel Intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) RS-24 “YARS” stationary (mine) basing, equipped with MIRV warheads.
The main objective of the launch is to confirm the reliability of a series of rockets of the same class. The experimental warheads arrived at the specified area on the Kura testing range on the Kamchatka Peninsula. The goals achieved, targets are met in full, said the Ministry of defense.
RS-24 developed by the Moscow Institute of thermal technology. This rocket created using scientific, technical and technological solutions implemented in a rocket complex “Topol-M”, which significantly reduced the time and cost to create it.
This type of missile system equipped with Kozelsk (Kaluga region) and Tatishchev (Saratov region) missile compound.
