The diplomatic service, the EU has launched a website for the information counter Russia

BRUSSELS, 12 sen — news, Alexander Shishlo. External action service of the European Union in the framework of the campaign “EU against misinformation” on Tuesday launched a website in English, German and Russian.

As noted in the accompanying information, the website created in the framework of the campaign, “aimed at better predicting, consideration and response to the Pro-Kremlin disinformation”.

The campaign “EU against misinformation” organized a working group on strategic communications East StratCom Task Force. This group was created by decision of heads of state and government of the EU in March 2015 for “countering Russian disinformation campaigns”, according to the website.

In a recent issue of information warfare with the Russian media was often heard in the West. In November last year the European Parliament adopted a resolution called “Strategic communication of the EU as a counter-propaganda of the third parties.”

In the document, a number of provisions which borders the proposal to introduce censorship in relation to the Russian media, claimed that Russia allegedly provides financial support to opposition political parties and organizations in member countries of the EU, and also uses bilateral relations to divide members of the community.

As the main information-related threats to the EU and its partners in Eastern Europe resolution called Sputnik, RT, Fund “Russian world” and subordinated to the Russian Ministry of foreign Affairs of the Federal Agency “Rossotrudnichestvo”.

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin, commenting on the adoption of this resolution, congratulated the journalists of RT and Sputnik with productive work. However, he noted that this document is apparent degradation of the conception of democracy in Western society. According to Putin, he is counting on a triumph of common sense and hopes that the real limitations for the Russian media will not.
