State Secretary of the Ministry of defence of Russia Nikolay Pankov reported that more than 95 per cent of the troops of the Eastern military district, registered voters participated in the elections. His words leads TASS.
“As of 16:00 Moscow time fully completed the voting in the Eastern military district, which covers much of the territory of our country. According to preliminary data, in voting there took part more than 95 percent of soldiers included in the lists of voters,” he said.
In the Central military district voter turnout currently stands at about 90 percent in the Western and southern military districts — more than 80 percent.
“Voting in the Armed forces of the Russian Federation is well organized”, — said Pankow.
Commanders of military districts and branches of the armed forces in cooperation with law enforcement bodies took measures to ensure public order and security during the elections.
