In Barcelona on 11 September rally in support of Catalan independence. In the demonstration, according to its organizers, was attended by over one million people (the population of Barcelona is 1.6 million people). The Spanish authorities estimate the number of participants 350 thousand.
Action timed to the National day of Catalonia, took place three weeks before a referendum on Catalan independence, scheduled for 1 October. The demonstrators, among other things, unfurled a banner: “Independence “Yes”” calling to vote for the secession of Catalonia from Spain. The Spanish government has already announced that he would seek a referendum contradicting the Constitution of the country.
