Ukrainian police brought in the Unified register of pre-judicial investigations of the country data on the fact of breaking the Polish-Ukrainian border, the former Governor of the Odessa region Mikhail Saakashvili and his supporters. The case opened under article 332 (“an Illegal transportation of persons through the state border of Ukraine”). It provides imprisonment for the term from three up to seven years if the acts were committed on preliminary arrangement by group of persons.
Previously to bring Saakashvili and his supporters to criminal prosecution promised the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko. “The law requires to prosecute those who organized the illegal crossing of the border, led by such actions, or contributed to it by advice or action. It will be done. As will assess the actions of the institutions of government during today’s events,” — said Lutsenko.
September 10, Saakashvili deprived of Ukrainian citizenship and undocumented, in Polish Przemysl (Przemysl) got on the train “intercity” to Kiev. However, at the station, the composition of the detained, declaring that he won’t move until the inside is “a person without the right to enter the territory of Ukraine”. After sitting in the car for a few hours, the former Georgian President went to the Polish-Ukrainian border by bus. At the checkpoint “shehyni” supporters of the policy broke through the cordon, after which Saakashvili managed to enter the territory of Ukraine.
In the state border service accused Saakashvili of trespassing on a sensitive object, illegally crossing the border and causing bodily harm to the staff.
