Stoltenberg told about the threat in 30 years, the situation in the world

Today the world situation is more dangerous than ever in the past 30 years. This opinion was expressed by NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in an interview with The Guardian.

According to him, the world has become more unpredictable and complicated, because “we are facing so many challenges at once.” Among these “tests” Stoltenberg called the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction on the Korean Peninsula, terrorists, instability and “more strongly tuned” Russia.

Currently, the situation on the Korean Peninsula remains tense. The international community requires the termination of Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile programs, UN Security Council in connection with the tests repeatedly tightened against North Korea imposed sanctions.

In late August, South Korean President moon Jae-In demanded the military to develop a plan of attack in the event of armed conflict with the North. According to him, the armed forces must be able to quickly go on the offensive if Pyongyang commits a provocation, “go to hell” or attack on Seoul.

Ukrainian and Baltic politicians have repeatedly expressed concern about the upcoming joint military exercises of Russia and Belarus. In particular, the Secretary of the national security Council and defence of Ukraine (NSDC) Oleksandr Turchynov expressed confidence that the Russian army will continue the attack on Poland and Lithuania.

The maneuvers of the two countries “West-2017” will be held from 14 to 20 September. Such exercises conducted by Moscow and Minsk on a regular basis. This year they will participate to 13 thousand soldiers. The Minister of defence of Germany Ursula von der Leyen declared that the alleged speech actually goes about 100 thousand Russian soldiers. The Russian defense Ministry has denied these words.
