The CEC Chairperson Ella Pamfilova has asked the Moscow authorities, law enforcement agencies and Metropolitan municipal electoral Committee to pay attention to reports of intruders who had confiscated campaign materials of independent candidates from mailboxes. Earlier media reported that in Moscow from mailboxes in the row of houses confiscated campaign materials of independent candidates in municipal elections, reports TASS.
“Right after I became aware of this scandalous situation the evening of 6 September, I immediately turned to the leadership of the city of Moscow, the Moscow law enforcement agencies in Moscow election Committee with a strong recommendation to urgently take all necessary measures to identify and punish the attackers,” — said Pamfilova.
She demanded to prevent similar illegal actions in the run-up to municipal elections. Pamfilova said that all the remaining days before the elections, the CEC will keep this situation under special control. Also the electoral Commission is asking all faced with similar or other violations, to call on “a hot line” Department.
In Moscow the elections of the councils of deputies of the 125 districts — all the districts of old Moscow, Shchukin in addition, as well as the district of Troitsk in the New Moscow. The elections came to the fore 8 329 thousand candidates from 32 parties, independent candidates, were registered 7 665 thousand candidates.
