Announced the launch of machine to search for porn stored

The Minister for ethics in Uganda Lokodo Simon (Simon Lokodo) announced the imminent launch of “tools for searching porn.” It is reported by The Next Web.

Lokodo announced the composition of the Committee to control pornography (Pornography Control Committee) a year later after the announcement of the order for the development of “Ugandan seeking porn”. Then it was reported that it will launch in September 2016.

Lokodo assured that the tool will be able to detect pornographic material (videos, photos and any graphic elements) remotely on the user device, including a saved copy.

The Committee on control of pornography would be empowered to monitor the implementation of the law banning porn in the country.

“The machine search porn” was worth the Ugandan authorities, about 88 thousand dollars and was produced in South Korea. The publication notes that no technical details of the development were not disclosed. The project is part of the strategy, enshrined in the law against pornography, adopted in 2014.

According to the law, sharing or downloading illegal content is penalized with a fine in the amount of three thousand dollars or a prison term of up to ten years.
