Yanukovych accused of seizing power in 2010

On Wednesday wrote to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko.

KIEV, September 6. /TASS/. The Prosecutor General’s office of Ukraine is investigating the case on the constitutional coup of 2010, the charge which is brought against ex-President Viktor Yanukovych. On Wednesday said the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko in Facebook.

“Based on the collected evidence it is reported about suspicion under part 1 of article 109 of the criminal code of Ukraine ex-President Yanukovych and ex-Minister of justice Alexander Lavrinovich committing together with other persons of the seizure of state power”, — Lutsenko wrote on the page.

He noted that “the Department of special investigation GPU investigated the case of the constitutional revolution of 2010, which led to the seizure of state power by expanding the unconstitutional way the powers of the President of Ukraine at the expense of the shrinking role and powers of Parliament and government.”

The amendments to the Constitution, according to the investigation, was illegal.

After a coup in Ukraine in 2014 against Yanukovych there have been several accusations. One of the things — of treason — already is on consideration in court.
