WASHINGTON, 5 Sep — RIA Novosti. The US state Department said that actions against Russian property comply with the Vienna Convention, since the United States withdrew its consent to the placement of diplomatic missions.
“Vienna Convention on consular relations indicates that all consular posts are established only with the consent of the receiving party. United States has withdrawn its consent in relation to the Russian Consulate in San Francisco,” reads the statement received by RIA Novosti.
It notes that “the Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations does not preclude the imposition of restrictions in regard to the location of the Embassy buildings or units.”
