Between Russia and Japan signed a Memorandum of understanding

The Secretary of the Russian security Council Nikolai Patrushev and his Japanese counterpart, Shotaro Yachi, has signed a Memorandum of understanding which defines the terms of the bilateral consultations on security issues that are of mutual interest, said the press service of the security Council.

“The document defines the scope of regular consultations and exchange of views on issues related to national, regional and international security of mutual interest”, — stated in the message at the disposal of RIA Novosti.

Japanese security Council regularly participates in events and meetings organized by the security Council of the Russian Federation. This meeting of high representatives on security issues, as well as meetings of States parties of the Arctic Council.

The report said that the talks with Shotaro Yachi, the sides stressed the importance of cooperation of Russia and Japan in security matters, as it is in “long-term interests of both countries and contribute to maintaining international and regional peace, security and stability.”

Nikolai Patrushev is in Japan on a visit, during which he met with Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and also with the Secretary of the security Council of Japan, Shotaro Yachi.
