The Cabinet will allocate subsidies to the regions for strengthening the unity of the nation
MOSCOW, 4 September — RIA Novosti. Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Khloponin instructed the agencies to amend the state program for national policy: in 2018 the regions on a competitive basis will provide subsidies for local programmes to strengthen the unity of the nation. Order published Monday on the website of the Cabinet.
“FADH (Federal Agency on Affairs of nationalities), the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of economic development, the Ministry of justice to ensure payment to the state program “Implementation of state national policy” changes, and provides on a competitive basis from 2018 the subsidies from the Federal budget to budgets of subjects of the Russian Federation in the framework of the mentioned state program on the basis of the evaluation of the effectiveness of the implementation of regional programs to strengthen the unity of the Russian nation and ethnocultural development of the peoples of Russia and taking into account regional peculiarities”, — stated in the message.
Changes need to be made until October 5.
Agencies will also have until November 1 to approve methodical recommendations on “the formation of a local community positive interethnic and interfaith relations, as well as on the identification and prevention of ethnic conflicts”.
In addition, agencies will have until February 1 to finalize the draft laws on assigning citizens to indigenous peoples.
