In Xiamen opened a summit of leaders of BRICS countries
XIAMEN, September 4 — RIA Novosti, Anna was Raccogli. The opening of the summit of the BRICS countries (Russia, China, Brazil, India and South Africa) held in South China’s coastal city of Xiamen on Monday.
The leaders of the five countries arrived in Xiamen international Convention center around 10: 00 local time (5.00 GMT), where they met Chinese President XI Jinping. After that, the heads of the five member countries of the Association, hand in hand, took a traditional group photo on the background of the national flags.
After this, the heads of the five States went to the meeting in a narrow format meeting, during which they will discuss the situation in the world economy, global economic governance, international and regional conflicts, and national security and development.
China, presiding in the BRICS this year, outlined the goals of the summit, the strengthening of mutually beneficial and comprehensive partnership for the sake of maintaining peace and stability, promoting common development and improvement of the system of global governance.
Monday will also host a meeting in an enlarged format “1+20”, participants will make practical cooperation in the overall development, humanitarian and cultural exchanges, as well as development of mechanisms of cooperation of the BRICS.
The result of the meeting it is planned to adopt a joint Declaration Xiamen. The summit will last 4-5 September.
