In Uruguay fugitives arrested 23 years, the “cocaine king”

In Uruguay’s capital Montevideo arrested one of the most wanted bosses of the Italian mafia, who was on the run for 23 years. About it reports Reuters.

Rocco Morabito, nicknamed “cocaine king” was seized in a joint operation of Italian and Uruguayan security services, which lasted more than six months.

As reports Corrierre della Sera, Morabito lived in Uruguay for a fake Brazilian documents for the past ten years. With him was arrested the woman-a native of Angola, which seized fake Portuguese passport.

Morabito was one of the most wanted Italian mafia bosses included in the Calabrian clan of the ndrangheta. According to Rai News, in the period from 1988 to 1994, the “cocaine king” has organized the delivery of several tons of drugs into Milan, and created the city’s network for their dissemination. In Italy Morabito was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
