The government, the EU has promised Ukraine a tranche of €600 million until early 2018

The first Secretary of the Department of trade and Economics of the EU delegation to Ukraine, called the timing of the sending of the tranche a purely technical issue.

KIEV, September 3. /TASS/. Tranche from the European Union to Ukraine in the amount of €600 million will come no earlier than January 2018. This was stated by the first Secretary of the Department of trade and Economics of the EU delegation to Ukraine, Jocelyn Giton in an interview with Ukrainian news.

“Might be a slight technical delay of several weeks between the decision and immediate payout, but if all goes well, tranche will be granted at the beginning of next year”, — said Giton, assuring that “the timing is purely technical question”.

He recalled that “the program of macro-financial assistance was adopted a few years ago, and timing of each tranche has been set at the beginning.” At the same time Giton noted that the EU is “still really waiting for that all conditions are met”.

In March, the European Commission approved the granting Ukraine the next tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of €600 million.
