North Korea officially announced the successful test of a hydrogen bomb. The corresponding statement was made on Sunday, September 3, in the broadcast of the Central television of the DPRK, reports TASS.

This warhead is designed to equip Intercontinental ballistic missiles (ICBMs). Of radiation leakage during the tests was not reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the stream, leading the South Korean TV channel YTN and the Japanese NHK.

Earlier, on 3 September, the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea (KCNA) reported the development of a new hydrogen bomb, which can be used as the warhead for ICBMs. The bomb was presented during a visit by North Korean leader Kim Jong-UN Institute for nuclear research. It was noted that the payload capacity can reach hundreds of kilotons, and all of its components are manufactured in the country.

On the same day, South Korean news Agency Yonhap reported that the DPRK recorded a 5.6 magnitude earthquake. In Seoul suggested that this is due to the nuclear test. In this regard, the President of South Korea moon Jae In decided to urgently convene the national security Council, and the military of the Republic to raise the level of combat readiness.

In turn, the foreign Minister of Japan, Taro Kono said that Tokyo through diplomatic channels to Pyongyang expressed protest over the tests, describing them as “absolutely unforgivable”. “We intend to coordinate with relevant countries to the urgent convocation of the UN security Council”, — quotes the words of the Japanese Minister RIA Novosti.
