Moscow. 2 Sep. INTERFAX.RU — Official representative of Russian foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova explained that the smoke over the building of the Russian Consulate in San Francisco came from “actions for conservation of the building.”

“In this connection can be closed the window, lowered the blinds, turned off the light, go down the water, shut the door, throw the garbage, switch off the heating devices, to include life support systems and much more,” wrote Zakharova on the night of Saturday in his Facebook.

She also expressed surprise at the attention the American media gave this incident. “There were prepared photographic coverage of “emergency”, and as the height of sadism caused by fire. Just in case. Suddenly Russian help is needed: after all, a couple of hours left in them to clear the room,” she wrote.

Earlier media reported that from the chimney of the US Consulate General in San Francisco, thick black smoke. The building called the fire Department, but inside they were not allowed. People came out of the Consulate, said the Embassy staff burned in the fireplace some items.

Before that, the Russian foreign Ministry said that the US intelligence services are prepared 2 September to conduct a search in the Consulate building.
