More than 200 thousand people celebrated the Eid al-Adha in Moscow

In celebration of Eid al-Adha in Moscow was attended by more than 200 thousand people, serious violations of public order were recorded. Such data results in the capital Moi on Friday, September 1.

Believers began to gather around the Moscow Cathedral mosque with four in the morning, in front of them was the head of the Council of Muftis of Russia Ravil Gainutdin, specify “Izvestia”. Moscow city hall decided to grant educational institutions the right to decide to transfer or not to transfer the celebration of the 1 September due to the overlap with the Muslim holiday.

In 2017, the Eid al-Adha non-regular date fell on September 1. This festival of sacrifice marks the end of Hajj (pilgrimage). On this day Muslims have accepted the sacrifice of a sheep, cow, bull or camel.
