The HRC at a special meeting discussed the problem of waste disposal
The Council under RF President on development of civil society and human rights Council (HRC) held a special meeting devoted to ensuring the rights of citizens to health protection and favourable environment for the handling of household waste, reports on Wednesday, the correspondent RAPSI from the building of the presidential Administration.
MOSCOW, August 30 — RAPSI. After the event, the representative of the HRC announced the collection of proposals for the preparation of recommendations to the President. Important task is to ensure that the views of the public and experts in making specific decisions about the construction of plants for processing of garbage. In the HRC, we believe that in the long term it is necessary to take all measures to build a civilized system for dealing with waste in Russia.
At the meeting a presentation was made by the Minister of natural resources and ecology of Russia Sergey Donskoy, Plenipotentiary on human rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova, Deputy Minister of construction and housing and communal services of Russia Andrey Chibis, officials from the regions, members of HRC and members of the public.
The main subject of discussion was the policy of the state in the field of waste processing. In the framework of the project “Pure land” will be built complexes on processing of garbage. It is planned that part of the waste after sorting and processing will be used again. Garbage that cannot be reused will be incinerated. The state shall take measures to reduce the volume of waste to be landfill and reduces the amount of landfills.
