The Russians pointed out the increased incidence of tuberculosis in Ukraine

Rospotrebnadzor warned the Russians about the spread of tuberculosis in Ukraine. This was reported on the website of the Department.

“The problem of tuberculosis in Ukraine today requires special attention from the authorities in connection with the new visa regime for Ukrainians imposed by the EU”, — stated in the message. It is also noted that, compared with 2015, in 2016 to four per cent decreased the number of newly identified forms of the disease.

“However, international experts noted problems in the statistics of morbidity, and also pay attention that in some regions of the country is a particularly difficult situation. This applies primarily to the southern regions — Odessa and Kherson areas, where is registered every year more than 100 cases of newly diagnosed tuberculosis per 100 thousand people”, — the specialists of Rospotrebnadzor.

The Ministry also stressed that Ukraine in 2014 among the five countries with the most frequent cases of drug-resistant tuberculosis.

In August last year it was reported that tuberculosis is prevalent in Russia and other post-Soviet countries, is the most dangerous of all the diseases of this type. The incidence of tuberculosis in Russia is four times higher than in the rest of the world. Every year about 150 thousand people become infected with the Beijing strain of Mycobacterium tuberculosis.
