Contracts for 170 billion rubles were signed in the framework of International military-technical forum “Army-2017”. It ended on Sunday, August 27, in the suburbs.

The Ministry of defense of Russia in the framework of the forum was signed by 23 of the state contract and three additional agreements with 17 enterprises of the military-industrial complex, said Deputy defense Minister Yuri Borisov. According to him, the result of the execution of these contracts in the Armed forces will put more than 600 and renovated with the modernization of more than 200 pieces of weapons, military and special equipment.

In particular, Borisov said that the defense Ministry of Russia till 2020 will receive 100 new tanks “Armata”.

Deputy defense Minister noted that almost all the samples of the arms contracted, the Russian defense Ministry International military-technical forum “Army-2017” , have been tested in Syria.

Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on defence Yury Shvydkin on radio Sputnik noted the interest in the forum from the representatives of foreign States.

“The forum was first held a teleconference with base Hamim in Syria. In addition to the exhibition of trophies of the “Islamic state” (is Russian terrorist group), was shown samples of weapons and military equipment that were used in the Syrian army in the framework of the Russian space forces: infantry fighting vehicles, aircraft, drones. All of this can be seen firsthand. Representatives of foreign countries showed a high level of interest. We were able to show the power of our Armed forces — this was put before the forum. We had representatives of NATO and CIS, and I think it was good for them. The forum was attended by representatives from 114 foreign countries, 65 official military delegations, including the delegations at the level of Ministers of defence. And it also speaks about the interest of the forum” , — said Yuri Svitkin.
