The Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the Emir of Kuwait Sabah al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah hold a meeting in the capital of the Emirate, the correspondent of RIA Novosti.
The meeting of Lavrov and al-Sabah, held behind closed doors. It is expected that later on Monday, the Russian Minister will also hold talks with his Kuwaiti counterpart Sabah al-Khalid al-Sabah.
Lavrov on Monday went on a trip to the Persian Gulf, during which will visit Kuwait, UAE and Qatar.
It is expected that the main topics on the agenda will be the crises in Syria and the situation around Qatar and its relations with its Arab neighbors.
In addition, the Russian foreign Ministry on the eve of the visit said that during the meetings in the Arabian capitals of the Russian side intends to discuss the development of the traditionally friendly relations with these countries, but also to pay attention to the issues of maintaining a regular political dialogue and boost trade and investment partnership, elaboration of projects in the energy sector, metallurgy, industry, agriculture, infrastructure.
