Trump is convinced that relations between the US and Russia sooner or later will be normalized
WASHINGTON, August 29. /TASS/. Relations between the United States and Russia sooner or later will be normalized. The conviction that the President of the United States Donald trump expressed on Monday at a joint press conference with President of Finland Sauli Niinistö in Washington.
“It’s a big country, it’s a nuclear power, a country with which we need to get along. And I think ultimately we’ll get along with Russia”, — he said.
“Russia deeply respects Finland, and it was good. I think that Finland has good relations with Russia. I hope that one day the US will be able to establish a very good relationship with Russia: it will be good for peace in the world”, — said the American leader.
In turn, the President of Finland Sauli Niinistö confirmed that during a meeting in Washington, the sides discussed the prospects of building further relations with Russia.
“We did discuss Russia,” he said.
While Niinistö is actually answered negatively to the question of whether Finland to act as a mediator between Russia and the United States to normalize their relations. “But in reality I do not think that I or Finland to be advisors to anybody”, — he said.
