Advisor to the President of Russia on development of the Internet Herman Klimenko announced the creation of the Russian Association of the blockchain and cryptocurrency (RABIK). On Tuesday, August 29, reports video News Service.

“The new structure will bring together market participants blockchain technology, owners of cryptocurrencies, including the so-called miners, and investors, making their investment in projects based on blockchain crypto (ICO)”, — stated in the press release of the Institute of development Internet (IRI).

The process of creating RABIK will be launched in the next two weeks. The Association will promote and introduction of technologies of its members in the Federal government and the constituent entities of Russia. Also RABIK will develop the agenda for dialogue with regulators — legitimizing cryptocurrencies and implementation of a blockchain technology in state and commercial structures, as well as a discussion of legislative initiatives in the field of regulation. The Association will operate three committees — the blockchain, ICO and mining.

“The members of the Association, inter alia, will be provided a variety of preferences, including from manufacturers of equipment for the creation of cryptocurrencies, the opportunity to present their technology to potential customers and participation in major public events,” — said in a press release IRI.

August 28, Deputy head of the Ministry of Finance of Russia Alexey Moiseev said that the digital currency should be regulated as a financial asset, and buying them needs only qualified investors. The office also offers to sell the cryptocurrency through the Moscow exchange under the control of Rosfinmonitoring.

In may, the Bank of Russia proposed to classify cryptocurrencies as digital goods. Previously, the regulator had stated that to speak about the legalization of the circulation of electronic currencies, including bitcoin, in Russia it is premature.
