Former Chairman of the Central Bank Sergey Aleksashenko has refused to return to Russia

After the appearance of the message on excitation of criminal case Sergey Aleksashenko decided not to go to Russia. The case filed for attempting to take abroad the Soviet order, was previously reported by the media.

Former first Deputy head of the Bank of Russia and former Deputy Minister of Finance Sergey Aleksashenko has declared that does not intend while to return to Russia.

In his words, “no smoke without fire,” he said on radio “Echo of Moscow”.

“You know, if the stage hangs a gun, then it is in the third act must necessarily shoot. If I uttered the phrase “criminal case”, then, apparently, someone thinks, someone thinks about this… Better yet I’m going to avoid the danger that I can foresee,” said Aleksashenko in the air of “Echo of Moscow”. According to the economist, his lawyers did not confirm the message of “Moskovsky Komsomolets” about excitation against it criminal case.

23 Aug “Moskovsky Komsomolets” (“MK”) announced that Aleksashenko was detained at Domodedovo airport while trying to smuggle out of the country undeclared the Soviet order. Referring to the message of the airport’s customs, “MK” wrote that against him criminal case under article 226.1 of the criminal code (smuggling of cultural values).
