It is reported by The Telegraph, citing the relevant documents.

In 2015, the Interpol has rejected a request of the Russian side. The independent Commission for the control of Interpol data acknowledged the request for the arrest illegal, saying it has “a predominantly political nature”.

Browder was the employer of the auditor Sergei Magnitsky, who died in SIZO “sailor’s Silence” in 2009. From 1995 to 2007, Browder was the largest foreign portfolio investor in Russia.

The financier was declared internationally wanted by Russia on the case about theft of shares of “Gazprom” for the sum about 3 billion rubles.
