Putin will meet with South Korean President at WEF

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin and the leader of South Korea, moon Jae-In will meet in Vladivostok at the Eastern economic forum (WEF) in September. This was announced by Russian foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, RIA Novosti reported on Friday, August 25.

“Just after ten days they meet again in Vladivostok in the framework of the Eastern economic forum”, — said Lavrov at the meeting with his colleague from South Korea Kang Kyung Hwa.

According to him, of fundamental importance for Moscow, and Seoul was contact between the two leaders on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Hamburg. The Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation noted that the Russian side is also interested in arranging contacts with South Korea through governments, various ministries and departments, as well as in the effective work of the intergovernmental Commission on trade-economic cooperation.

July 7 in Hamburg Vladimir Putin and moon Jae-In holds a working meeting during which, in particular, discussed the situation around North Korean nuclear program. The Russian leader noted that he was very glad to discuss the matter with the President of South Korea.

III Eastern economic forum will be held on 6 and 7 September in Vladivostok. The forum — the campus of the far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) on the island of Russian.
