Maduro commented on the new US sanctions against Venezuela

MOSCOW, 26 Aug — RIA Novosti. Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said that new US sanctions against Venezuela will complicate the supply of crude oil to the American side, reports Reuters.

The President of the United States Donald trump introduced on Friday new sanctions against Venezuela. In particular, trump has banned American companies deal with new debt and securities issued by the government of Venezuela and the state oil company, with a maturity of more than 30 and 90 days, respectively. Also prohibited transactions with a number of existing debt owned by the public sector of Venezuela, and the receipt of dividends from the government of Venezuela.

As said the head of Venezuela during the video message from the presidential Palace, this conclusion allows to make a preliminary analysis of the situation. In General, according to Maduro, the U.S. action intended to push Venezuela into default and trigger the closing of the company’s Citgo in the United States and owned by Venezuela.

Maduro has accused trump in defiance of international law and relations with Latin America. The actions of the American President will cause “great damage” to the Venezuelan economy and American investors, he said.

“They commit the theft, fraud,” said Maduro, quoted by the associated Press. The President added that Venezuela will get in touch with their American partners and will try to guarantee the preservation of business relations for decades.

If necessary, the government of Venezuela to find other markets for 700 million barrels of oil, which it sends to the U.S., said Maduro.
