WASHINGTON, Aug 26 — RIA Novosti. One person was killed in a fire in the house after the hurricane “Harvey” hit the Texas Rockport, Reuters reported, citing a statement by the mayor of the city of Charles Wax.
According to the mayor, the body of the deceased was found after leading the storm into Texas. Other details about the victim’s wax was not provided.
Earlier, the national center of the United States for the prevention of hurricanes (NHC) reported that hurricane “Harvey” weakened to the level of a tropical storm. At the same time, weather forecasters warned of the threat of “extremely serious floods”, which can lead to life-threatening consequences.
“Harvey” became the most powerful hurricane in the U.S. over the past 12 years, since the country in 2005 was hit by the storm Katrina, which led to the flooding of New Orleans city in Louisiana.
