Hungarian University assigns Putin the title of “Honorary citizen”

The Hungarian University of Debrecen intends to assign to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin the title of “Honorary citizen” (Civis Honoris Causa). On Thursday, August 24, reports TASS.

Russian President awarded the title “in recognition of the important role that Russia and Hungary give Debrecen the University in the modernization of the Paks nuclear power plant”, reads the statement of the University. This institution will train specialists for work on new nuclear power plant construction project which implemented Moscow and Budapest.

The title should pass in the Parliament building in Budapest, said the Austrian Agency APA.

August 17 it became known that the President of Russia invited to the opening of world judo championship in Budapest. The invitation to the Russian leader, was sent by the International judo Federation, as Putin is its honorary President.

The press service of the Kremlin has not yet confirmed the visit of the head of state in Hungary. Vladimir Putin has visited this year in Budapest. On February 2 the Russian President held talks with Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban.

The world judo Championships in 2017 will be held in the Hungarian capital in the arena name of Papp Laszlo sports arena from 28 August to 3 September.
