As it became known “” from informed sources in Kyiv, in the near future the government of Ukraine will adopt a resolution on the new order of entry for citizens of Russia. The visa regime will not be introduced, however, there are other serious limitations: cross border will be possible only on the biometric passport, and will also be required in advance to fill out a form on the website of the foreign Ministry.
About the upcoming changes of the regime of crossing the border, “Kommersant” told several sources in the government and in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine. According to them, was originally planned (as was demanded by the Secretary of the national security and defense Alexander Turchinov) to enter with Russia a full-fledged visa regime. But in the end this idea was decided to refuse.
“The main reason why Kiev decided not to introduce a visa regime, — concerns for Ukrainian nationals remaining in the Crimea, — says “Kommersant” the Deputy Minister of the temporarily occupied territories and internally displaced persons Yury Grymchak. — If we cancelled the agreement on visa-free regime with Russia, these people would lose the possibility to move freely in our country.”
