LDPR leader Vladimir Zhirinovsky believes that the transfer of the capital of Russia beyond the Urals there is neither economic, nor historical, nor legal grounds.

“It is not necessary to touch (to the capital — RT.). The Holy city of Moscow, which is almost more than a thousand years, and suddenly to take new capital. A lot of money and, most importantly, in what sense? We go beyond the Ural and will be the capital of the Asian state, has lost all the characters.

Moving the capital no reason nor economic, nor historical, nor legal, nor ethical,” said he in an interview with RT.

Zhirinovsky also noted that it is necessary not only to deal with transfer of capital and development of regions.

“Another thing to develop the neighboring with Moscow region: Vladimir, Tula, Kaluga, and so on. More population on South down: Krasnodar region, the Crimea. But just the capital transfer makes no sense. Nobody bothers to invest money in the development of all other regions of the country. And it turns out that we are now going the other capital equip. And we all said that now all the money goes to new capital, so wait 10 years. So any way it is impossible to maintain, we will do everything to prevent it”, — said the politician.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Institute of demography, migration and regional development Yury Krupnov has proposed to move the capital of Russia beyond the Urals.
