Chechen human rights activist Kheda Saratova told RIA Novosti that was published in “Novaya Gazeta” information about the massacre of the inhabitants of the village of Krasnaya Turbine in Chechnya who signed the appeal to the Prosecutor General of Russia Yuri Chaika, not true.

Informed to “Novaya Gazeta” wrote about the case of the inhabitants of the village of Krasnaya Turbine in Chechnya — Magomed taramova and Jamala Tazbiev, who are accused of preparation for participation in an illegal armed formation. Now the hearings on the case are in the Staropromyslovsky court of Grozny. According to the publication, the only proof of guilt of the detainees is a confession, but, as stated in court the young people, it was obtained under torture.

According to the newspaper, the villagers and their relatives, not believing the charge, stood up for the accused, and on Wednesday sent a collective statement on the matter to the Prosecutor General of Russia Yuri Chaika. However, after that, according to the publication, they called the police and beaten.

The human rights activist also said that on Friday at the human rights centre came more than 60 signatories of the appeal to the Prosecutor General. According to her, in conversation it turned out that almost all the authors of the letter had no idea what was going on in their signed document.

“On hearing this, they decided to complain that we helped them to rehabilitate themselves in the public eye and not be punished for the signing of provocative letters,” said human rights activist.

The interlocutor of Agency has added that its invitation the meeting was attended by the head of the Staropromyslovsky district Zelimkhan Istamulov, head of the police Department of the district Magomed Magomadov and Chairman of the Board at the head of the Chechen Republic on development of civil society and human rights, Timur Aliyev.

“I want to assure you that the conversation took place completely in a relaxed atmosphere. The inhabitants of the village were invited to a questions, we talked in detail. No pressure on them and could not be,” she says.

“Everyone sitting in the hall can confirm that this is an absolute lie as the fact that the alleged villagers were forcibly taken to Grozny”, — concluded the human rights activist.
