The IG has claimed responsibility for the attack in Surgut

Terrorist group “Islamic state” (banned in Russia) has claimed responsibility for an armed attack in Surgut. On Saturday, August 19, Reuters reported with reference to associated with the militants, the Agency Amaq.

Earlier it became known that the attack was a local resident born in 1994, presumably suffering from mental illness. On the morning of Saturday, August 19, armed with a knife man attacked passers-by in the city centre. Seven of the injured were taken to the Surgut trauma hospital, children among them. Four people are in serious condition.
