MOSCOW, 17 Aug — RIA Novosti. Russia’s envoy to the EU Vladimir Chizhov believes that the EU after Brexit will be more to make their own decisions in the military-political sphere.
“Many European leaders came to the conclusion that the fate of Europe must take into their own hands. And not only in the economic sphere. In the European Union there are plans to strengthen foreign policy capacity and even the defense”, — he said in an interview with radio Sputnik.
According to Chizhov, “if all the projects on strengthening of military-political instruments of the EU hampered the UK, who did not want to blur netcentricity European policy, its withdrawal from the EU the rest of the States hands will be more unleashed.”
“This does not mean that everything will run away from NATO, but, nevertheless, we can expect a certain growth of independence of European decision-making in this sphere”, — said the permanent representative of Russia to the EU.
