MOSCOW, 19 Jul — RIA Novosti. The Lebanese army announced the start of an offensive against the terrorist organization “Islamic state”* on the border with Syria, Reuters reported, citing a source in the security agencies.
According to the source Agency, the Lebanese armed forces are planning to attack the positions of the IG* near the village of RAAS-Baalbek. He noted that against the militants will be used rockets, artillery and helicopters.
The Lebanese army in the last two weeks intensively began to fire at the terrorists.
According to military experts, these actions are part of the preparation of the ground operation for the liberation of Lebanese territories from ISIS*.
The Lebanese government on Tuesday approved guidelines for the preparation of the military operation and stated that is responsible for the liberation of Lebanon from terror.
