MOSCOW, August 15. /TASS/. Russia celebrates the movement of the United States in the direction of supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine, which would be a destabilizing move for the situation in the Donbass. This was stated by Deputy Minister of foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Ryabkov in an interview with the magazine “international life”, the full text of which published on Tuesday on the website of the foreign Ministry.
“The administration [of US President Donald] trump’s strongly pushing in this direction, he said. — Referred to Mr. [special representative of the US state Department in Ukraine Kurt] Walker during his visits to Ukraine and other countries have also spoken in public in favor of it.”
Ryabkov pointed out that a hypothetical supply of lethal weapons would be a qualitatively new step in the actions of the USA in the Ukrainian direction. “Will it be done? — continued Ryabkov. — Recently celebrating a “drift” of Washington in this direction.”
According to the Deputy head of the Russian foreign Ministry, such a decision would lead to very dangerous developments. “It is clear that politically it would be perceived as the “party of war” in Kiev as a strong signal of support. In practical terms, this would be a significant destabilization of the situation in the South-East of Ukraine”, — he added.
