The Deputy of the state Duma of Adalbi Shhagoshev (“United Russia”) has directed the Governor of Krasnodar Krai Veniamin Kondratyev request calling to take under personal control the situation with the detention of young people from Kabardino-Balkaria (KBR), who danced in the street in Gelendzhik lezginka. It is reported by RIA Novosti.
“As a law enforcement officer in the past, I think that in this case, the police Noumea acted too harshly. The lezginka is part of the national culture with which to contend is not necessary! And in the Krasnodar region there is no ban on the execution of the dance,” said the MP.
He called for adequate and impartial investigation of the incident.
According to the Agency, Noumea police detained four natives of the CBD in one of the streets of the city on 12 August. Some time later, two of them were released, two others received five days of arrest.
