Serbia has proposed to divide Kosovo

The Minister of foreign Affairs of Serbia Ivica Dacic suggested that the Northern part of Kosovo under Belgrade’s control. He wrote about this in an article in the government newspaper Novosti.

In addition, according to Dacic, it is necessary to provide a wide autonomy to Serb municipalities, which will remain in the South of Kosovo. As for the Serbian Orthodox monasteries, the Minister advised to give them a special Autonomous status of the monastic community on the model of the Greek Athos.

The diplomat stressed that Pristina must pay the Belgrade financial compensation for illegally seized private and public property.

“Everyone needs a permanent solution of the Serbian-Albanian conflict, and this can only be achieved by agreement between the Serbs and Albanians, where each side will get something and lose,” wrote dačić.

The Republic of Kosovo, a partially recognized state on the Balkan Peninsula. Most of the population are Albanians. Serbia is the Autonomous province of Kosovo and Metohija, what is the region in the Constitution, part of its territory. Russia of independence of Kosovo does not recognize.
