Rouhani has threatened to withdraw from the nuclear deal with the extension of US sanctions

Iran can withdraw from the agreement on its nuclear program if the U.S. sanctions will be expanded. As reported by RIA Novosti, said the President of the country Hassan Rouhani.

“The failure of sanctions and containment has led them (us) of the previous administration to the negotiating table, — said the Iranian President. If they want to return to this practice, definitely in a short time — not weeks or months, but in the scale of hours and days — we will return to our former situation.”

18 July the United States imposed sanctions against 18 more Iranian companies and individuals involved in the missile program of the Islamic Republic.

While the Americans noted that the restrictive measures are not related to a Joint comprehensive plan of action (SVPD) on the Iranian nuclear program. August 1, Iranian authorities asked the UN security Council a complaint against the US, accusing Washington of violating the terms of the nuclear deal.

Iran and the six international mediators (US, Russia, China, Britain, France, Germany) in mid-July 2015 reached agreement on Tehran’s nuclear program and signed the AGREEMENT. The Islamic Republic pledged to restrict work in the field of uranium enrichment in exchange for lifting some sanctions.
