Rogozin was surprised the version of the copy of the Ukrainian rocket engine in the DPRK

Dmitry Rogozin

Deputy Chairman of Russian government Dmitry Rogozin has questioned the fact that North Korea could copy manufactured in Ukraine rocket engines. About this he wrote on his page in Facebook on Tuesday, August 15.

“What do you mean “copy engines”? It’s not a painting or a sculpture. In order to make a “copy”, it is necessary to have available or the original engine, or detailed drawings” — so Rogozin commented on the voiced chief designer of KB “southern” version, according to which some persons could copy the technology.

Vice Prime Minister also expressed confidence that the run production is impossible without Ukrainian specialists. “Anyway, we are talking about smuggling the supply to bypass all the existing extremely tough international restrictions”, — he stressed.

Earlier Tuesday, General designer KB Alexander Degtyarev stated that none of the employees could not assist North Korea. Moreover, he categorically rejected the version about the possibility of a direct supply of engines in the DPRK. “Maybe somewhere some copies and managed to do”, — said Degtyarev.

The acting head of state space Agency of Ukraine, in turn, questioned the fact that some important data could be transferred to Korea nationals convicted of spying in 2012. A day earlier, a former employee of KB said that a few years ago North Korean engineers tried to steal the documentation for Intercontinental ballistic missiles R-36M “Satan”.

August 14, The New York Times, citing sources in the American intelligence community and experts of the International Institute for strategic studies (IISS) said that the newest ballistic missiles tested in North Korea, are the engines, the technology of which could be obtained with the Ukrainian “Yuzhmash.”
