Historians have to think about revising the age of Moscow

Historians can revise the real age of Moscow. About it RIA Novosti said the chief archaeologist of Moscow Leonid Kondrashov.

According to him, this is a debatable issue that requires very careful study. “The fact findings makes us very seriously to discuss the issue. You can talk about the findings, which can give the opportunity to specify the date of the Foundation of Moscow,” — said Kondrashov.

The scientist explained that the date of the Foundation of Moscow is a conditional date. According to him, there is no doubt that Prince Yury Dolgoruky “has already arrived in some villages, and very fortified.” “This, incidentally, is noted by many historians. In the course of archaeological excavations, by the way, found the village of X century, which marks the arrival of the Slavs here. But before that, there lived Finno-Ugric tribes. Then start the nuances — what is considered a city, what time are strengthening and so forth,” — said Kondrashov.

Now the date of the founding of Moscow is 1147, when it was first mentioned in surviving to the present sources.

Earlier it was reported that in center of Moscow on Sretenka archaeologists have discovered silicon cutter, belonging to the Neolithic age (V–III Millennium BC).
