Ukrainian media told about the plans of Kiev to sell the Dovzhenko film Studio

The Ministry of economic development of Ukraine plans to sell a number of cultural sites at the national level, among which the Dovzhenko film Studio and the national circus of Ukraine. About it writes the edition “Mirror of week”.

According to media reports, all we are talking about 893 companies. It is argued that privatization plans of these objects by 2020-related obligations, which Kiev has assumed in the framework of agreements with the IMF for the issuance of tranches.

The publication explains that “national” status is for many institutions a culture of “writ”.

A journalist suggested that future privatized circuses may appear “car dealers and night clubs”, and the territory of the studios will be able to move for housing. “In particular, the area of only one of the Dovzhenko film Studio in the city center is nearly 14 hectares. Such land — and while no one capitalized?”, — the author writes.

In November 2016 the government of Ukraine approved the draft law on de-monopolization of the alcohol industry in the country. In particular, the document envisages the privatization of distilleries.

On 3 April the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that the IMF granted the country $ 1 billion. Total program support — over $ 17 billion. For further tranches Kiev needs to reform in land and pension sector, to put on the privatization of a number of objects, but also to strengthen the fight against corruption.
